King of Poland 2026 is behind us. On August 27-29, we competed in Offland Ignalin in one of the most demanding off-road events in Poland – an official round of Ultra4 Europe.
We entered the competition with our Can-Am Maverick R, number #99. Rafał Jaskuła was behind the wheel, and Denis Jaskuła was the co-driver. From the start, we knew this race would be more than just a battle for results. We wanted to test the car in real rally conditions, gain experience, and see how the solutions we prepared would perform during many hours of driving on a challenging track.
A track that quickly reveals weaknesses
King of Poland is not a short run after which you can calmly return to the paddock. The competition takes place on a closed loop, and crews complete successive laps within a specified time.
The track featured fast sections, rocks, steep climbs, mud, hard bumps, and technical sections. In such conditions, not only the car's power matters. Suspension setup, pacing, how obstacles are tackled, and the ability to react to what happens with the car during the competition are crucial.
This year's edition also had a unique character. The event was a tribute to the late Hubert Polak, which is why the organizers opted for a subdued setting, maintaining a calm and respectful atmosphere.
Our Can-Am Maverick R #99
Before the start, we prepared the car with real racing in mind, not leisurely recreational driving. The Maverick R received, among other things:
-
reinforced AVID A-arms and trailing arms,
-
ADS suspension with a bypass system,
-
35-inch Maxxis tires,
-
reinforcements of critical frame points,
-
a polyurethane skid plate,
-
a properly prepared and tested setup.
Even before the competition, we took the car for tests at Adrenalina Park. There, we checked its behavior during high-speed driving, hard bumps, landings, and load changes. The tests showed that the suspension was too soft, so we had to make further adjustments before the start.
And it is precisely such situations that are one of the most important reasons why we compete. Simply installing stronger parts is not enough. You then need to check how all the elements work together and how the car behaves in conditions that cannot be fully replicated in a workshop.
How did our runs go?

We learned the most on the track
This start showed us that during a competition, you have to be ready to make continuous decisions. Not everything can be planned before the trip. Track conditions change with each lap, the car performs differently after successive hits, and settings that work well in one place might require adjustment in another.
During King of Poland, we continuously analyzed the car's behavior, driving pace, and suspension performance. We made decisions regarding settings, how to tackle the track, and where we could push faster and where it was better to leave a safety margin.
It is thanks to such competitions that we know much more today than before the start. We have new data, experiences, and specific conclusions regarding the preparation of the Can-Am Maverick R for driving in such terrain. We know which elements can still be improved, how to set up the car better, and where to look for additional durability and speed.
A well-organized event
We also want to emphasize that King of Poland was a really well-organized event. The track, schedule, timing, technical support, and all aspects of the competition were of a high standard.
We thank the organizers for preparing a challenging and interesting track, and for creating conditions where we could compete, test the car, and gain experience. We also thank the entire Apex Race team, Rafał and Denis, and everyone who kept their fingers crossed for us.
What's next?
King of Poland ended for us with a podium finish, a victory in the last heat, and a great deal of practical knowledge. Now we can use this experience in future projects and in preparing cars for our clients.
If you want to modify your UTV to really perform – faster, safer, and much more durable than a stock vehicle – we now know exactly what to focus on.
