What to choose for Polish mud and sand? Maverick X3 or RZR Pro R?
Battle for Poland: Can-Am Maverick vs Polaris RZR
What to choose for Polish mud and sand? Maverick X3 or RZR Pro R?
It's the eternal question: "Couch" (Can-Am) or Polaris? In desert conditions (USA, Dakar), the answer can be different than in Poland. Our terrain is unique – we have a lot of tight forests, deep mud, and variable traction.
Can-Am Maverick X3 (and newer Maverick R models)
-
Advantages: The king of speed. Its low center of gravity and brilliant suspension make it glide smoothly over the potholed gravel roads of Drawsko and Żagań. The Rotax engine is rugged.
-
Disadvantages in Poland: It's wide and long. In tight, forested sections like Masuria and Pomerania, you have to twist the handlebars quite a bit. It also requires attention to belt cooling in deep mud.
Polaris RZR (Pro XP / Pro R)
-
Pros: Agility and visibility. The riding position is more "chair-like," which gives you better visibility ahead – great on technical descents and in the mud. The Dynamix (active) suspension system copes brilliantly with variable Polish terrain (sometimes hard, sometimes soft in a split second).
-
Disadvantages: Requires attention to the front drive and bearings, which tend to take a beating in the Polish mud.
The verdict for 2026? If you're aiming for Baja rallies (speed) , go for the Can-Am. Its stability at 120 km/h over potholes is unbeatable. If you prefer cross-country, Breslau-style rallies (mud/technical) , the Polaris might give you an advantage in maneuvering through the trees.
